{Silhouette Print with Monogram}

** First let me say THANK YOU for supporting this blog! This is my creative outlet, and my refuge at night when the kids finally go to sleep. I am SO thrilled to have OVER 100 followers ... you all rock! I am staying true to my word, so right after the new year, I will announce a giveaway. I would have done it this week, but it's crazy busy here during the holiday. SO stay tuned!

Here is the first of 2 DIY gifts using my digital silhouettes + I will show you another great DIY gift I made for the hubs on Wednesday.

The first gift is one that I gave my Grandma just today for Christmas.

I used both of the kids silhouettes and created a print on Photoshop. The background is a creamy grey, so that it looks just a bit different than the mat on the frame. I then used a simple font to add their monogram at the bottom. The frame is from Target, and I highly suggest using their matted frames ... they ALWAYS add to the art.

While I was making my kids silhouettes, I felt the memories coming back to me. First of my own personal silhouette that we were given at school ... I still have no idea where that is at this point in time! But the best memory that came back to me what my grandma's old house. She used to have all four of her boys silhouettes in the hallway toward the bedrooms. I used to look at them EVERY time I was there, they were so beautiful. At the bottom she wrote each ones name in pencil ... I wish I had my dad's now as a keepsake. I also couldn't tell you I ever thought about these again until making my own. I really miss her house, but more importantly, I miss her. She lives up near Chicago, and I can only get up there about 2 times a year :(

This is such a simple gift, but it looks absolutely gorgeous framed. I loved it so much I made myself one! This gifts total was $14.00 for the frame.

** Just a tip: I have a laser jet printer. If you are using an ink jet, I would recommend getting it printed at Staples or Kinkos. It wont cost much since it's black and white.
