We are starting off 2013 with a DIY project that is sooooo simple, it will only take you 15 minutes or less! Yep, you heard right. It's so easy, that my kids were telling me what to do next!
I have lived in my home for 6 years now and there are two windows that were never covered. In fact, they sat bare, because I could not decide what would look best. I tried many coverings, but nothing worked out. It was either too long or too short, not the right color, etc. FINALLY, I came across this fabric and immediatly knew what I wanted to do. Don't you just love when that happens? Oh, and major bonus. This project cost me a total of ONLY $15.00. That was for 2 window coverings remember.
So here's the final product ..
The whole project really is that simple. You need to cut your fabric to the size of your window. I actually leave one inch on either side and fold over with the adheasive tape to create a perfect edge.
Fold over each side of you fabric, making sure the top has enough room to slide the tension rod through. The iron-on adheasive fabric table is really easy to use. Just cut the tape, fold the fabric, touching the tape on either side and iron. It takes about 30 seconds per side.
Once the fabric is folded on each side, slide the tention rod through the top and hang! Wa-La!
Perfect DIY Fabric Shades!

Hi Natalie. Very cute. And EXACTLY what i need for the bare kitchen window.
Can I ask where you got the tension rod from (and what it is exactly)? There isn't anything on my window at all.
Now, to find the right material... :)
