Pampered Mom's "Steam" Cleaning

One of the first things that hubby and I do when we're spring cleaning is STEAM & Shampoo the carpets.  It's amazing how dirty they can get within 6 months, especially if you have pets like we do.

We don't use any fancy products at all, we literally rent a shampoo carpet cleaner and use a pre-mixed solution with EXTREMELY HOT water.  That's it.  When it's all said and done, the carpets take a full day to clean, and a full night to dry.  Try not to walk on the carpet if you can during the drying process.

We also move all of our furniture out as well, there's no point in cleaning carpets if you can't move at least the lighter pieces.

The Pampered Mom's Favorite Room Fresheners

Do you have rain mate or an air purifier?  After I get done "Spring Cleaning" my house, I always add a little Mrs. Meyer's Room Freshener to my rain mate and fill the room with a clean aroma.

In the kitchen I always use Lemon, Bathrooms usually a floral scent and bedrooms I stick to lavender.

What do you use to refresh your rooms?

I have found that I can only purchase these online, as they don't sell them in the stores near me.  A bit pricey, but it's totally justified!

The Pampered Mom's Easy End of Winter Tablescape

It's that in-between time ... you can't bring out all of your Spring Decor, but you also can't keep out all of your winter ones either ... seriously, it was time for the snowmen to go away a long time ago.

We recently had the opportunity to host a dinner party at the house with some of close friends.  The décor was constricting and not to mention, I still had my valentine's décor up ... The end of February and first part of March was time to rally together and find something to fit!

You know me, I wanted something clean and crisp as usual.  Not too overbearing, and "light" enough to look good in our space.  This time around I pulled together our cream dishes from Pottery Barn, my mother of pearl chargers, the candles from my wedding, and gold honeycomb votives from Target.  I also used fresh artichoke hearts to compliment the table and to bring something living to the space.  All that's missing is some good friends and good wine!

Team Imhoff's Fireplace Progress ... Completed

It's Done!  The process is complete and we adore the new tile!  You know when you move into a new house and think about all the things you would change if it was yours ... the fireplace was one of the items that made the list.   Was it as high as the basement ... umm no, but, it was something that I continued to be persistent about.

Before the fireplace had the green marble tile ... remember when that was in?  Yeah, me either!
I knew I wanted something more neutral, but I wasn't quite sure what that was.  Our usually Sunday trips to lowes, I found the white marble.  The perfect, most beautiful small subway tile white marble.

We couldn't have made it happen with out one of my husbands good friends, Bryan .. so THANK YOU!!!  He really helped and Ryan was able to finish it up after he left ... so he must have been a great teacher!  I am SOOO thrilled about how it turned out.  It's stunning and beautiful.  And the funny thing is, it doesn't stick out so it's not a show stopper, it just looks like it should have been there from the start!

Next up backsplash?  We'll see ....
