Second Guessing in Normal Right?!

One of the more daunting tasks of building a house is visiting a design center and selecting the options.  Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it.  However, it just seems so final to me.  At least in our case, we had 5 hours [ours was more like 8] of design services and that's it.  For every change you make they charge you and once it's so many days out, I think it's 30, everything is ordered and complete.  There - hopefully you have made the right decisions.... right?!

 

The only thing I can suggest to anyone going through the same process is trust your gut and go with your instincts.  There were a number of items that I fell in love with but had to remind myself -"It's beautiful, but is it for our home?"  In the end, I believe we went classic with hints of tradition.  Although I do like modern straight lines, for the most part I was conservative. I figured I could add modern décor elements of furniture to give it a contemporary feel.

We split our time in the design center up into 2 days, which were 2 weeks apart.  I remember before our second appointment I was second guessing myself constantly.  Did I make the right decision, I should change this or that.  And then the day came for us to meet again and I looked at all our selections on the table and thought to myself ... I did good.  I don't think we changed a thing :)

 

Now it's a month later and yes, I am still second guessing.  That's normal right? Ha.  Less than 90 days until it's complete!
